" Thank You Taker "

"From Death Valley, I give you The Undertaker." With these words, The Million Dollars Man Ted Dibiase first introduced to us the Deadman; it was the edition of Survivor Series 1990, and after that night, a myth was born.

A legend, in every meaning, Mark Calaway is the essence of the words "Wrestling" and "Entertainment". Everyone, from children to adults, from Wrestling Fans to common people, everyone knows who The Undertaker is. This says it all about the legacy that this man created and that will be remembered forever. Every time he was out there performing he gave his absolute best, with a unique, probably the most unique, character and unique Wrestling Skills.

Undertaker established his legacy not only because of his Championship wins, but because of what he gave to the people: feelings, emotions, memories that will live forever. It is enough to think about his legendary Streak at WrestleMania, 21-0; a Streak that was considered so much important that became even more desired than a Championship title. In this Streak, not only Undertaker stated his persona on the Greatest Show of the Company, but he made so while giving Stories, Matches, Emotions to those watching, like the Three Matches of the "End of an Era."

In his career we saw many versions of Taker: Ministry of Darkness, American Badass, Brother of Destruction, the classic Undertaker and more, and Mark was able to deliver with every single version of him; we learnt to fear him when we were children and we learnt to love him now that he is retiring.

Undertaker is considered a legend now, because staying on top of the mountain for 30 years is something that only a Legend can do; he entertained three generations with his performances, but what makes him even greater is the fact that also Backstage he was a leader, he wanted the rules to be respected, he wanted devotion and passion for the discipline. A great man both inside and outside the ring, he gave everything for this Sport, and now he has retired. He will undoubtedly leave an empty space, but likely he will keep working behind the scenes to help new young talents, with  maybe some apparitions during the years.

Truth is that The Undertaker is and will always be unique, we will never witness another character like him, we have to consider ourselves lucky to have shared all this moments with him, and deep inside no one ever wanted this day to come, but it has. So, Legend, Phenom, Myth, for one last ride: #ThankYouTaker.
