If for the last couple of years we have been complaining about the meaning of the Pay Per View "Extreme Rules", this year we cannot do that. This year's Extreme Rules is so extreme that has been named "The Horror Show.": we arrive to this Show with unknown expectations since we know from the beginning that a Horror Show cannot be taken seriously, however if you watch it without prejudices, it certainly entertains you.

The opener is the match between Nakamura & Cesaro against The New Day; the match is good, the tables help the drama and the crown of new champions is the perfect scenario since The Artist Collective has been very good these past few weeks. We move on with the "Eye for an Eye", where to win you have to take an eye off of your opponent: now, the stipulation really is disturbing, but someway in line with the story Rollins and Rey are telling; Seth needed this victory to give credibility to his character but, wow, this match is really shocking and Seth throwing up in the end is awful. The Women's division comes out from this Show with the Golden Role Models, Sasha Banks and Bayley, who now have all the gold of WWE; really? What is next for them now? I am okay with Bayley retaining but Banks? Asuka needed an important victory over a very convincing performance to impose his credibility and what happens? Sasha wins, cheating, but always a win. By the way, Sasha still does not convince me in the ring, she made lots of mistakes during the match and even though this character is working very well I still give more credit to Bayley. MVP wins via forfait; was this all the plan they had for the the United States Championship? Let's see where it goes but they could do better. Dolph Ziggler picks the stipulation for the match against Drew McIntyre, and yes, I loved it: in line with Dolph heel character, they also found a way to balance the match with the equalizer of the Extreme Rules only for Ziggler and if Drew gets Disqualified Dolph still wins the championship; smart. Thanks to this stipulation the match is really enjoyable, Dolph loses but after a great performance and Drew retains, sweating, but once again proving that he is the best right now.

And we arrive to the Main Event; of course an Horror Show could not end without a Horror Movie so we get The Wyatt Swamp Fight as the last match of the night. Now, this "match" was not for the Championship and I wonder why since the whole rivalry started because Bray wanted the Universal Gold back, but whatever. They decide to choose a psychological fight, which is Bray's masterpiece, and we relive the past that Braun and The Eater of Worlds had, in the swamp. Bray even uses the love that Strowman has for Alexa Bliss and the bite of a snake to get the best of the Champ; in the end they fight into the Swamp water, with Braun going down and The Fiend emerging victorious. This, like all of the cinematic matches of Wyatt, must be interpreted: we cannot understand it by just watching, we need to analyze it in deep details, but where will this lead? To a match between Strowman and The Fiend? Is Strowman dead? Will he join Wyatt? Will Bray remain the Eater of Worlds? Who knows.

The show was...well...meh. Good the tables match, Bayley and Cross and Ziggler - McIntyre. For the rest, the Eye for an Eye was disturbing, even if coherent with the story, Banks and Asuka cannot be judged: in the end Bayley was the referee, Asuka as a Face wanted to use the green mist to win, there are several things I didn't get so I don't know how to interpret this. The Swamp Fight must be understood and we don't know where this will go, what is for sure is that they could do something better with the United States Championship, they didn't even try.
