" WWE Payback 2020 "

WWE PAYBACK 2020 OFFICIAL POSTER

Only one week from Summerslam ( you can find SummerSlam Review by clicking here ) WWE brings to the table WWE Payback, with a very intriguing card and very interesting developments.

We start with the Kick-Off Show where The Riott Squad seems to be on the same page, which is a very good news for the Women's Tag Team division, and gets the win over The IIconics who need to rebuild themselves after this loss, all to create new rivalries for the Titles.

But now we focus on the Real Show!

The first match of the night is for the United States Championship and, God, finally The Hurt Business gets some notoriety with Bobby Lashley who now is the Champ; Apollo Crews didn't convince at all and after months of rivalry against MVP it is the right option to give the title to someone like Lashley, capable of giving relevance to the belt.

Big E defeats Sheamus in a very good match, enjoyable; of course, the member of The New Day needed the victory in order to keep his momentum but I am a little upset for Sheamus who works really well but doesn't conclude anything. Same could be said for Matt Riddle vs King Corbin, Riddle needed the Win but once again Corbin loses a match, making me wonder what benefits he had with the win of the King Of The Ring.

We move on with another Championship match, the one for the Women's Tag Team Titles and what a surprise! I didn't expect Shayna and Nia to win but it's actually very good to see new teams and Sasha and Bayley who are starting to have serious problems with their friendship; I don't know where this will lead but it's quite intriguing and opens up to many scenarios.

Speaking of new scenarios, what a performance by Keith Lee in his Pay Per View debut match against non other than The Viper, Randy Orton. Maybe, when Drew returns, there could be a triple threat picture for the WWE Title now that Lee owns a win over the Number one contender; too soon? Who knows, what is for sure is that they believe in Keith and they made a very crystal clear statement. The Mysterio family finally gets the win over Rollins and Murphy: here, we can say that what happened in the end may bring to a fracture between The Monday Night Messiah and his disciple with maybe a future rivalry...this is interesting because we don't know what is next for them!

Finally, the Main Event, triple threat for the Universal Championship...or should I say one on one for the Universal Championship? Yes, because basically that's what we saw, with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman arriving only in the end trying to steal a victory, wow! I don't think this is the best idea, because Reigns just returned and for what he stated at Summerslam he should be a destroying machine, instead he acts cowardly and shows up only when the other two competitors have no forces. I don't know what this means for his character, but one thing is for sure: one way or another Bray Wyatt never manages to have a solid run with a World Championship, and that's really sad for him. Plus, I don't know who is Face and who is Heel anymore since everyone acts like they are monsters...and Alexa Bliss watches from the back, new character changes are coming for Little Miss Bliss.

This was Payback 2020, very solid Show in my opinion which leaves the door open to very interesting pictures and intriguing storyline developments. Stay tuned for Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown to know where this will go, share your thoughts in the comments area and we will meet in the next review, have a nice one!
